New Single: Every Avenue

Picture Perfect comes out in just 9 days, and the hype is building for Every Avenue, partially due to this fantastic single.

Is Hellogoodbye on the Upswing?

Officially, Hellogoodbye hasn't released a full length LP since their smashing debut Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs!. And, officially, Hellogoodbye hasn't produced the same magic since. Their new EP When We First Met, however gives us some hope.

Better still, if you like the following title song, the entire EP, plus a music video is free from the Hellogoodbye boys themselves, in exchange for a subscription to their newsletters (and if that's really too terrible for you to endure, you can unsubscribe whenever). See their website

Adele vs. The Strokes

I have to say, I love Adele, but I wasn't sure about her doing this particular song. Turns out I love it, but let me know what you think.

The super-group just got more super on the 90210 Soundtrack.

Old Track: Landon Pigg

Everyone knows "Falling in Love at a Coffee Shop," but Landon deserves credit for this one too.

Old Cover

I've been doing a bit of cleaning in my iTunes library because I officially have too many songs. Not a fun task, but the upside (besides having more space on the computer) is finding some of those songs I haven't listened to in a really long time. Including this fun cover!

"Baby Got Back" - Jonathan Coulton (Sir-Mix-a-Lot cover)

Newfound Respect: Kings of Leon and Arcade Fire

Unlike some artsists whom I thought had more self respect (Death Cab, The Killers, Bon Iver, Thom Yorke...), these are the only two artists who turned down an opportunity to have a song on the new Twight soundtrack, according to Rolling Stone (according to the film's director, Chris Weitz).

I can't explain how bummed I am. I feel like these guys sold out to a group of people who don't deserve to hear their music because they don't try hard enough to find it. Boo.

But then, I suppose for some bands it's a great opportunity. All the more reason why Kings of Leon and Arcade Fire deserve some props. Kudos to you.

New Folk: Devendra Banhart

Absolutely beautiful songs have been released by Devendra Banhart recently on his EP Baby. The man, by all accounts, is a mad genius. Never constrained by any one genre, but typically classified as indie/folk/blues, Devendra is teaming up with Wu-Tang Clan's GZA on his new album What Will We Be out Oct. 27. Talk about another unthinkable collaboration.

But in all seriousness, this song, "Goin Back," is a really, really fantastic folk song.

Does This Mean Chis Brown is Back?

From Chris Brown's recent collaboration with Swizz Beats and Lil' Wayne:

"I Can Transform Ya"

Did I miss this song on the Transformers soundtrack??

From a Republican with an M.D.

PAUL BROUN (R-GA) HAS AN M.D.

Yes Doc, you make perfect sense. Because you CAN cure chronic depression with one visit to the emergency room. I'm so glad they taught you compassion in medical school too.
