I can't remember the last time I was this stoked for a debut album.
I just bought Pixie Lott's Turn It Up and it has been WELL worth it. At the tender age of 18, Lott possesses vocal talent far beyond her years. Like Adele, Amy Winehouse, Duffy, and Natasha Beddingfield, Pixie seems to be mesmerized by the American soul era and it's evident in her music (including motown, as you can see in "Boys and Girls"). My concern, however, is that she'll be thrown carelessly into this category of British female artists. She's so distinctive and savvy, you just know this isn't the last you've heard of Pixie Lott.
Oh, and did I mention? She topped the UK charts this week with "Boys and Girls"! (At least on BBC's Radio 1, the Official UK Charts, however claim "Run This Town" took the top spot and "Boys and Girls" no where to be seen. I trust Radio 1.)

Also, out of the RIDICULOUS number of "Use Somebody" covers, Pixie's has to be my favorite. Not on the album, but again, well worth the listen :)
